Ice Dogs Win And Bombers And Miners Fall in Friday SIJHL Play

All three local teams were in action Friday night in the Superior International Junior Hockey League.

In Spooner, Wisconsin the Dryden GM Ice Dogs pulled out a 3-2 victory over the Lumberjacks.

Landon Stromme was the hero scoring at 3:49 in overtime.

In regulation pay, Ryland Maier continued his hot streak with a goal, along with Jordan Pfoh.

Eric Clark made 30 saves for the victory.

The Sioux Lookout Bombers competed hard in their first road trip in franchise history however dropped a 4-3 decision to the league leading Kam River Fighting Walleye.

Connor Burke, Lucas Trimarchi and Nolan Palmer found the back of the net for the Bombers.

Jake Manners was solid in net making 37 saves as Sioux Lookout was outshot 41-26.

In Thunder Bay, the North Stars skated away with a 4-1 win over Red Lake.

Dylan Winsor, from Ear Falls scored the game winning goal late in the first.

Scoring for Red Lake was Aiden Corbett.

Jaxson Taupert made 35 saves in the loss,
