Ice Dogs Win On Home Ice

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs have regained the lead in the Bill Salonen Cup.

The Ice Dogs defence played their strongest game of the year limiting Fort Frances to 17-shots in a 4-1 win over the Lakers in front of 709 fans at the Memorial Arena Tuesday night.

Most of the goals came in the first period with Kent Walchuk, Derek McPhail and Nathan Avery finding the back of the net.

Nic Noseworthy iced the game with an empty netter on the powerplay.

Dryden GM was perfect on the penalty kill as the Lakers failed to score on eight opportunities.

They only recorded six shots on net.

The Ice Dogs were 2/5 with the man advantage.

Dryden GM recorded 23 shots on net.

The Dogs now lead the SIJHL championship 2-1.

Game 4 is Wednesday at the Memorial Arena.
