Ice Dogs Winless At Dudley Hewitt

Twenty minutes of hockey cost the Ice Dogs dearly as they fell 7-1 to the Newmarket Hurricanes at the Dudley Hewitt Cup in Newmarket. Dryden scored first on the power play as Drew Heinen was credited with the goal 7 minutes in. It was all Newmarket from there as they scored twice in the first and 5 times in the second chasing Graeme Harrington from the net after 5 goals. Sonny Albert allowed the other 2 before the middle frame was over. In the end the Ice Dogs outshot the Hurricanes 27-25 but Newmarket buried every chance they had. Dryden still has a chance to advance to the semi-finals with a win Thursday afternoon against the Sudbury Jr. Wolves. The Wolves fell 5-3 to the Oakville Blades earlier in the day sending them to 0-2. The Blades and Hurricanes will face off with a bye to the finals on the line Thursday evening. CKDR will have all the action beginning with the pre-game show at 1:15 Central time.
