Ice-Out

Waiting and more waiting.

When will area lakes and rivers be free of ice? Many of us are asking that question after a long winter.

Many keep yearly ‘ice-out’ records around the region, while others use crystal balls to guess at when the current year’s ice will disappear.

Lots of rain over the last few days has many of us anticipating the view of more open water.

Here’s what Wabigoon Lake was looking like yesterday from the Van Horne Landing area.
