An Ignace man has been slapped with a $2,500 fine for
illegal moose hunting.
The 45-year-old pleaded guilty to unlawfully hunting bull moose and
making a false statement to a conservation officer.
He was stopped, with 3 others, off Highway 599 in December 2003
after officers determined the men had made no party hunting agreement.
Another hunter has already been convicted while 2 others have yet to
appear in court.
