Ignace residents threw a party on the weekend to celebrate its 125th Birthday.
The Anniversary party gave people a chance to talk about the past.
Organizing Committee Chair Dennis Smyk says the Town has grown since its inception in 1879.
While the Town was incorporated in 1910 the Canadian Pacific Railway designated it as division point in 1879.
According to local history, the Town was named after native Canadian, Ignace Mentour, a well-known Iroquois Guide of the 19th century.
