Ignace embarks on a Willingness Study

The Town of Ignace wants to find out what local residents feel about a deep geological repository for spent nuclear fuel in their community.

A Willingness Study is being carried out by a community engagment team.

The study will be conducted starting this month and end in June of next year.

It’s to find out local residents willingness to continue on in the site selection process and provide town council some insight into their choices.

The study is confidential and the engagement team will be in Ignace three times: once this month, once in January and a final time in March.

A recommendation from the engagement team will be presented to the Community Liaison Committee and ultimately brought to Ignace town council for approval.
