Ignace Water System Receives Support

The Mayor of Ignace is asking taxpayers to remain patient stressing
clean and clear drinking water is on the horizon.
The Province is helping the community achieve that goal by investing
$2.5-million dollars in upgrades to the water treatment plant.
Dennis Smyk says the work has been needed for years.
Smyk says the $15-million worth of upgrades should be completed
in the middle of 2007 but notes the Town is still nearly $3-million short.
The cost of the project has jumped 50% since the Province
introduced strict regulations for water systems.
