Impaired Driving Charge In Red Lake

Provincial Police in Red Lake are reminding motorists to plan a safe ride home.

OPP were conducting regular traffic duties on Saturday and officers stopped a vehicle around 9:13pm.

Police say the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 105, within the Municipality of Red Lake.

OPP say the officer made a demand for a screening device breath sample and the driver failed and was placed under arrest.

Police say a 43-year-old man from British Columbia faces one count of operation of a vehicle while impaired.
