We will look back Sunday on the 100th Anniversary of the World War I Armistice.
Remembrance Day ceremonies are being held across the region.
James Ditchfield is with the Royal Canadian Legion in Dryden and he says Canadians had 650,000 men and women involved in the conflict over the course of five years.
Ditchfield says 66,000 soldiers died and 172,000 were wounded.
Ditchfield adds our contributions basically cemented our country on the world stage.
He says in part it lead to Canada earning a seat at Treaty negotiations that resulted in the Treaty of Versailles.
Ceremonies start around 10:15am at the Legion.
A march to the Cenotaph will follow, with the laying of wreaths around 11:15am.
A lunch will follow.
