Significant improvements are on the way for northern First Nations in the province including Pikangikum according to the federal Indian Affairs Minister.
A third party manager was appointed to oversee finances in the community last year.
Bob Nault says work continues with residents and leaders of Pikangikum.
He adds the number of suicides has dropped this year.
Nault says all levels of government need to work together to restructure financial and infrastructure policies in Pikangikum and other communities to the north.
