Canada’s Industry minister says the government is committed to helping out the struggling forest sector.
Tony Clement was in Kenora over the weekend to hand out funding for a number of projects.
Clement says forest companies shouldn’t expect direct handouts, but rather help diversifying their industry.
Clement adds the government will have to run a deficit this year in order to help out a struggling economy and one of the focuses will be on infrastructure funding.
