The Northwestern Health Unit is once again offering infant screening sessions.
Babies who were born from March to July this year may have missed their hearing screen due to COVID-19.
The procedure is important to identify any babies who have hearing problems and health officials stress early identification is key to help infants get the help they need.
Hearing problems that are not treated can negatively impact speech and language development and learning.
Children who are not identified early with hearing difficulties can also develop social, emotional, and behavioural challenges if they don’t receive support.
Any parents who think their baby may have missed their hearing screen should call 1-877-553-7122 for more information.
