The OPP has released more information on Sunday’s plane crash near Vermilion Bay.
A single engine Cessna tried to land on MacIntosh Road, about 8 kilometers north of Vermilion Bay.
Police say the aircraft had filled up in Sioux Lookout and eyewitnesses say the plane seemed to lose power, but then was fine.
A short time later, the pilot decided to try and touch down at the Vermilion Bay Landing strip, but was unable to make it.
OPP say the pilot did clip some trees on the landing but he wasn’t injured.
The pilot is a 22-year-old man from Quebec.
He was on his way to Yellowknife.
