The acting commissioner of the Provincial Police is asking the Ombudsman to review the hiring of his replacement.
Brad Blair is raising questions about the appointment of Ron Taverner.
In a nine page letter to Paul Dube, Blair says the perception of political interference is affecting the morale of officers.
Taverner is a personal friend of Doug Ford, but the Premier has denied any involvement in his hiring.
Blair is also asking that Taverner’s take-over on December 17th be delayed until February to allow time for the review.
