Today is the day that fundraising is front and center at McDonald’s Restaurants across the country including the locations in Northwestern Ontario.
It’s McHappy Day!!
The 24 hour fundraiser goes until midnight tonight supporting families with ill or injured children.
A portion of proceeds from every McDonald’s menu item sold today helps Ronald McDonald House provide essential support for families with ill or injured children who are getting treatment. At Ronald McDonald House the benefits include accomodations, meals, as well as mental health and wellness programming so families can stay together and focus on their child’s health.
McHappy Day was founded in 1977 and is still going strong!
CKDR was ‘On Location’ earlier today at McDonald’s in Dryden and had chance to chat with one off Dryden OPP’s finest – Sergeant Brittany Bembeneck. Bembeneck took a break from serving customers in the drive-thru to talk about her family’s experience of staying at Ronald McDonald House in Winnipeg.
Lots of ways to support McHappy Day today: buy any item off the McDonalds menu, purchase some McHappy Day merchandise including McHappy Day socks or fill out a McHappy Day Heart of support.
