A reminder with back to school.
Head lice can be a common nuisance, especially in children.
Public Health Nurse with the Northwestern Health Unit Chanda McAuley says if a child has lice, parents should act on it quickly.
“It’s important to check who ever the child or parent has been in contact with, and make sure to let the school or day care know.”
McAuley says lice do not come from a lack of cleanliness, and are transferred by close or head to head contact.
Shampoo treatments can be found at local drug stores and pharmacies.
