James Wilfred Tourond
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather, and friend James Tourond.
Jim passed away unexpectedly at his residence on December 11, 2012. Dad was born to Alfred and Octave Tourond on July 23rd 1933. He spent many years in Sandilands growing up with many of his siblings. He met and married Delores Ducharme on November 17th 1956, and together they settled in Vermilion Bay, ON. Dad spent 33 years working for Dryden Pulp and Paper Mill and during that time they raised 7 children.
Dad had many passions one of them was hockey, watching Hockey Night In Canada, watching his beloved Habs win many Stanley Cups. His other enjoyments were hunting, fishing, and always time with family and friends.
Dad is survived by his children, eldest daughter Debbie Reid, Gail Tourond, Glen Tourond (Della), Karen Sautner(Brad), Cheryl Paul,(Willard) Laurie Couture,(Aldege), his grandchildren; Jen Oberg(Calvin), Sharlene Tourond, Danielle Reid , Steven Reid, April Boomhower (Wayne) Florette Lambert, Alyssa, Kelsey, Cassidy and Tessa Sautner, Amanda Keshane (Spencer) Crystal Tourond (Kolton) Darren Tourond. Terri-Lynn Koury(Erin) and Justin Cederwall, Clayton and Cj and Audrey (Mark) Ashley Cederwall and Andrea Cederwall. He is also survived his sister Aurise Bain and brother David Tourond (Juliette), his Brother in laws and Sister in Law and many great grandchildren, whom he enjoyed dearly. Our dad was an uncle to many and fondly remembered by them all.
He was predeceased by our Mother Delores Tourond on July 25th 2005, previous to that his son Wayne Tourond on Sept 27th 1997, also his parents Alfred and Octave Tourond, Mother In law and Father in law Michael and Lena Ducharme.
Dad wasn’t a Rich Man but he had a heart of gold, ask anyone he helped out. He was always there when you needed him. He will be Lovingly Remembered and Greatly Missed.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 18th, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home on No 1 Hwy E & Navin Rd, Winnipeg, MB.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 18th,2012 at 10am at Green Acres Funeral Home on No 1 Hwy E & Navin Rd, in Winnipeg, MB. with Reverend Father Fred Olds officiating.
Interment will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery.
