January drier and milder than usual

It’s not often you can say this, but the weather in January was actually pretty nice.

There was one cold snap last month, but overall, the daily mean temperature was 6 degrees above average.

It sat at -12.2.

The coldest day in January was on January 19th, when the termometer dipped to -30.5.

January is also one of the drier months of the year, and last month was no exception with just 5.7 centimeters of precipitation, mostly in the form of snow.

We usually get about 27.5 centimeters.
