A date has been set for another milestone moment for Dryden’s Chris Pronger.
The St. Louis Blues have announced Pronger’s #44 jersey will be raised to the rafters on January 17 when they host Nashville.
The Blues unveiled in February 2020 that his number would be retired but the ceremony was delayed because of COVID.
Pronger will become the eighth player in franchise history to have his number retired.
He told stlouisblues.com that to be up there with so many greats is very special.
Pronger was originally acquired by St. Louis from the Hartford Whalers in 1995 and spent nine seasons with the team.
While in Missouri, he played in 598 regular-season games and tallied 84 goals, 272 assists and 931 penalty minutes.
He was a four-time All-Star with the Blues, finished in the Top 5 of Norris Trophy voting five times and in 2017, was named one of the “100 Greatest Players” by the NHL.
SAVE THE DATE! No. 44 will be raised to the rafters on Jan. 17, 2022. https://t.co/RpusaohT7R
