John Rafferty Discusses Minimum Wage And Veterans

The federal NDP are proposing an increase in the minimum wage of up to $15 an hour.
Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP John Rafferty says that would actually only apply to federally regulated industries.
Rafferty says the increase in the minimum wage was one of the ideas that came out of a recent policy session as the NDP prepare for next year’s federal election.
Meantime, the Parliamentary Committee on Veteran’s Affairs resumed sitting this past week in Ottawa.
Rafferty is a member of the standing committee.
He says there is still concern about the closure this year of several Veteran’s Affairs offices across Canada, including the one in Thunder Bay.
