A prominent native leader in Northern Ontario acquitted of sexual
assault has filed a defamation lawsuit against the OPP and Crown
Attorneys.
Leon Jourdain says the police investigation against him was
botched and he was subjected to a malicious prosecution.
His Lawyer Francis Thatcher says the Grand Chief’s reputation was
“destroyed.”
Jourdain was charged for an alleged incident in Kenora but the
charges were withdrawn last fall.
