Dryden Police had a busy weekend with several locals spending an evening or two in jail.
A 35-year old Dryden man was stopped on Hwy 594 just after 2 AM Saturday after he failed to stop at an intersection. As a result, he now faces charges for failing to provide a breath sample, impaired driving, driving while under suspension and possession of a controlled substance. He was held overnight will appear in court February 28.
Another man was arrested Saturday evening after police were summoned to a local apartment building. The man was found to be intoxicated and was removed. It was subsequently learned he had been released earlier the same day in Sioux Lookout, on conditions that he abstain from alcohol. Charges included failure to comply and two counts of uttering threats.
A second disturbance call Saturday evening resulted in a 42 year old man charged with domestic assault – he’s been held in custody pending a bail court appearance this (Monday) morning.
Police also issued two 3-day suspenions and numerous charges for speeding, failure to produce insurance and aClass G-1 driver who wasn’t accompanied by a licensed driver.
