K-O Launches Fundraising Campaign

An on-line fundraising campaign for fire evacuees of Keewaywin, North Spirit Lake and Deer Lake First Nations has been launched.
The initiative is being led by K-O Community Initiatives in Balmertown.
Spokesperson Brian Walmark says all money raised will be sent to affected communities to help them purchase items of need such as food, clothing and supplies.
Walkmark adds the on-line initiative is fast and effective as they can simply write band council’s a cheque for the goods, instead of collecting and shipping items from various communities.
To donate go to www.CanadaHelps.org or www.knet.ca.
