It was an emotional evening Tuesday night as the Jury in charge of the
James Kakegamic trial delivered its verdict.
The 12 member jury found 27-year-old James Kakegamic guilty of first
degree murder in relation to the death of 16-year-old Jocelyn “Chippy”
McDonald.
Justice Erwin Stach told Kakegamic there’s only 1 sentence under the
criminal code for murder and that’s life.
Stach ordered Kakegamic to provide the court with a DNA sample and
prohibited him from ever having a firearm or weapon in his possession.
Kakegamic’s last words to the court were “i didn’t kill Chippy
McDonald, that’s all i got to say.”
His lawyer plans to appeal the ruling.
Kakegamic Guilty
