KDMA Not Looking At Merger

Don’t expect to see a merger of District Municipal Associations in Northwestern Ontario any time soon.
At least one municipal councillor has questioned the need for the Kenora District Municipal Association.
Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association President Dave Canfield feels they still serve a purpose.
Canfield says the issue of merging some of the District Municipal Associations has been raised in the past, but ultimately rejected.
He adds the three regional Associations still want their own autonomy.
