The Chair of the Kenora District Services Board calls the 2016 budget a fair one.
Municipalities are being asked to pay $426,000 more for social services.
Barry Baltessen says significant investments are being made to address housing needs.
Baltessen says that’s why it was a bit easier for local reps to approve the increase.
He notes the additional funding is a step in the right direction and he expects to make some real clear progress on the housing front in the coming months.
Baltessen stresses they are making an investment in the future of local communities and believes it will pay off in the long run.
