KDSB Continues To Look At Closing Units

The Kenora District Services Board continues to move forward with the possible closure of social housing units in Hudson, Dinorwic and Minaki.
Officials say the 44-units are underutilized and deteriorating, but that there will be no effect on the current residents.
The KDSB is submitting a request to the provincial government to dispose of the properties.
Officials say it will cost $2.5-million to maintain the units at current standards next year.
They also cite additional heating costs.
The KDSB report to the province does include replacement options for the current tenants.
