KDSB Dryden Appointment Causes A Stir

In what was expected to be a rubber stamp vote, turned into a struggle to see who represents Dryden on various Boards and Committees.
Craig Nuttall and Roger Valley debated on who should sit on the Kenora District Services Board Monday night at Council in a verbal exchange that included some personal innuendos.
With a suggestion from Norm Bush, it was finally agreed the two would each serve one year rotating terms on the board.
Nuttall will kick things off.
Nuttall says he brings political experience to the table with his relationship with the Feds, Ontario and the Deputy Finance Minister.
He says the KDSB has to start helping member municipalities and notes other Mayors were looking forward to him sitting on the Board.
Nuttall says he wants to be involved in drafting the KDSB budget and bring Dryden’s concerns to the forefront.
Valley says he has plenty of experience on the KDSB as he was one of the founding members.
Valley notes he wants to make sure our taxpayer dollars are being spent well.
He adds he wants to ensure the unincorporated area pays their fair share and notes the KDSB budget must reflect the challenges facing all area municipalities.
