KDSB Looking at Land Ambulance Service

The Kenora District Services Board will decide in October whether or not to continue non-emergency land ambulance patient transfers.
CAO Sten Lif says for a number of years the ambulance service has been utilized to transfer non-emergency patients to hospitals for treatment.
Lif says they are in a situation where they may not have the manpower to respond to emergencies.
Lif says they are currently discussing the future of patient transfers with various stakeholders including hospitals.
He notes the KDSB is not mandated to provide the service.
