The Kenora District Services Board is out with its preliminary 2014 budget and there’s no major surprises contained for area municipalities.
Finance Director Corrine Owen says there’s no major spending and incoming revenue is expected to remain the same.
Owen says the municipal levy increase should be below 1%, resulting in an increase for area communities of $115,000.
CAO Dan McNeil notes this will be a stabilization year and notes they are still looking at possible savings.
The KDSB is projecting a 1.5% increase in the salary for primary care paramedics.
Their contract has hit the arbitration stage and a final decision isn’t expected until next April.
