KDSB Thanking Paramedics

The Chief Administrative Officer of the Kenora District Services Board says their EMS crew is playing a key role in the fight against COVID-19.

Henry Wall stresses their paramedics are second to none in Ontario.

“They are doing their regular job as a paramedic but also we have paramedics who are now doing community paramedic work. So just to see them step up and fill these roles has been quite a privilege and such an honour to have such a workforce.”

Wall says their EMS staff have assisted in delivering COVID-19 testing on top of their regular duties.

“The work they do is just incredible and their commitment, especially in this time where it is stressful, they too have families, they too have vulnerable individuals at home with compromised immune systems, and yet they come to work because they really care about our communities.”

Wall says the KDSB continues to push the Ministry of Health to ensure they don’t run out of personal protection equipment.

Wall says right now they are doing okay.
