Keewatin Derailment

Canadian Pacific Railways will be sending an investigator to find out what caused four empty grain cars to derail in Keewatin over the weekend.

The derailment took place around 5:00 yesterday afternoon and three rail crossings were blocked off for about four hours.

A C.P. spokesperson says the cars didn’t actually tip over and did not contain any hazardous materials.

Traffic is moving along the C.P. mainline once again, but
one of the rail crossings is expected to be closed until early this afternoon.
