Three injured in Highway 17 collision near Kenora

The OPP say three people were injured followed a two-vehicle collision on Highway 17 east in Kenora.

The accident took place just before midnight in the area of Whitehead Road.

Police, Northwest EMS and Kenora Fire and Emergency Services were on the scene, and the road was closed for about a half an hour.

The two drivers and a passenger were taken to Lake of the Woods District Hospital for treatment of non-threatening injuries.

As a result of the collision, a 61 year old from Kenora has been charged with driving causing bodily harm.

The driver also was given a three day licence suspension because they blew an alert on a roadside breathalyser.
