Kenora Area Census Results

Mixed results for the Kenora area were contained in this weeks 2006
census.
The City of Kenora saw its population drop by 4.2% from 2001,
and was cited in the Globe and Mail as 8th on the list of top 10 shrinking
communities in Canada.
The Town of Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls recorded a significant populaton
increase which surprised Mayor Bill Thompson.
Thompson says he’s trying to figure out where everyone is.
The community’s population rose 16.5% and now sits at 672.
