Kenora Candidates Discuss Economy

This week CKDR is taking an in-depth look at the Federal election and the important issues impacting the Kenora Riding.
Today we ask the candidates what they plan to do to help spur the local economy.
Tania Cameron of the NDP says her party would introduce a reduction in the small business tax rate from 11% to 9%.
Cameron says the NDP would also offer a job creation tax credit.
Liberal Roger Valley is looking at the manufacturing sector.
Valley says the Grits would create a program where one-third funding from the Feds, the Province and companies into renewing manufacturing Plants.
Valley adds Liberals would ensure high paying jobs and would work on ending the out-migration of youth from our area.
Conservative Greg Rickford says they would continue rebuilding and replacing essential infrastructure, ensuring for commercial and residential growth in our communities.
Independent Kelvin Chicago-Boucher says partnering with First Nations is critical.
Mike Schwindt is running for the Green party and says developing the economy of area First Nations is crucial.
We head to the polls next Monday.
