A Kenora city councilor and his son are safe and sound, after a wave of terrorist attacks in Paris, Friday night.
Mort Goss and his son Nate were among those watching a friendly soccer match between Germany and France, as bombings went off outside the stadium.
Mort says nobody really knew what was going on during the game, but as word started to spread, a panic flooded the field, and the two struggled to stay safe during an evacuation.
He goes on to say that, after hours spent trying to navigate their way back to the hotel, they were finally lucky enough to catch a cab as pandemonium ensued on the streets. Mort adds they didn’t know the extent of the devestation until they were out of harm’s way.
They’re now back in Canada, but shook up by the events.
