Kenora Council Says Yes To Casino

Kenora council has voted 5-2 in favor of bringing a casino to Kenora.
The proposal was voted on after two months of research and meetings done by the city.
Mayor Dave Canfield says they don’t want a stand alone casino, but rather one which will incorporate a resort, hotel and conference centre.
Canfield says the facility will be a big draw for tourists and will have a positive impact on the community.
The vote is the next step for Council to look for a company interested in building a casino with hotel accommodations and confrence centre facilities.
Only councillors Rory McMillan and Sharon Smith voted against the casino proposal.
