Rainy-River’s loss is Dryden’s gain.
Justice Thomas McKay is relocating to London, but Ontario’s Chief Justice has told the Rainy River Law Association the vacancy will be relocated to Dryden.
Association President Barbara Morgan says that’s going to impact court services in her District.
Morgan says the loss of a resident judge will delay court proceedings in Fort Frances and reduce the number of court dates available in Rainy River and Atikokan.
The group is seeking a face-to-face meeting with the Chief Justice.
Morgan says the province should be hiring more judges.
