Provincial Police have released details surrounding an event that forced the closure of Highway 71 near Sioux Narrows for six hours yesterday.
OPP say they received a complaint of a woman in distress and an investigation revealed that there was a physical altercation inside a vehicle between a man and a woman.
Police say the female driver sustained life threatening injuries but is now in stable condition in hospital.
OPP say 24-year-old Raymond Beacham of Kenora faces one count of aggravated assault.
