Kenora MP Addresses Federal Budget

Kenora MP Greg Rickford says the revamped plan for skills training in yesterday’s federal budget won’t impact individual provinces.
Rickford says the new plan is a co-operative effort.
He says they are taking a greater focus on job skills and training, and they will be partnering with the provincial government and the private sector.
Rickford notes that this year’s Economic Action Plan doesn’t raise taxes, and they don’t expect a reduction in services.
Another focus is community improvement, and Rickford says the Community Improvement Fund is $32.2-billion over 10-years, which will go towards road improvements and infrastructure upgrades.
