Kenora MP Bob Nault is optimistic about the future of the Experimental Lakes Area, west of Kenora.

This week, the feds announced $4-million to keep research at the facility going.

Nault says he’s positive that the Ontario and Manitoba government’s are going to participate in the long term activity at the ELA.

He adds Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford is also active, interested and involved in the site and wants to see it continue.

Nault made the comments after being questioned about the new Ford government eliminating the Chief Scientist position.
