Bob Nault says he will continue to work with all levels of government to defend and protect the softwood lumber industry in the Kenora riding.
Nault is joining to the chorus of opposition in this country regarding a U.S. decision to implement tariffs on Canadian Softwood Lumber.
The Liberal MP stresses the industry is the main driver of our economy.
Nault says he strongly disagrees with the decision and fully recognizes the severity of the impact that will be experienced on both sides of the border.
He adds he is pleased the Trudeau government has re-convened the Federal-Provincial Task Force on Softwood Lumber to examine measures to help companies, workers and communities.
