The MP for the Kenora riding says the Liberals had no choice but to
abstain from voting on the creation of a forestry strategy.
The Bloc Quebecois bill was defeated in the Commons on Wednesday as the
grits didn’t want to topple the government and force an election.
The move sparked NDP Leader Jack Layton to accuse Northern Ontario
Liberal MP’s of caring more about their jobs then Northerners.
Roger Valley says Layton was the one who voted against a Liberal
forestry plan when the Grits were in power.
Valley says every bill in the House of Commons is considered a
confidence motion and that has tied the hands of the opposition.
