Kenora MP Happy With Long Gun Ruling In Quebec

Kenora MP Greg Rickford is applauding a judge’s decision to reject Quebec’s attempt to stop the Feds from destroying long-gun registry data.
Rickford says there is no need for an expensive list, adding that the government has invested resources and increased the safey and security for people to get a long gun.
The cost to maintain the registry in Quebec is about $100,000 each month.
Rickford says from a cost perspective, the registry does nothing to go after crimes committed by guns, adding the government is putting their resources specifically towards that cause.
Last year the government voted to abolish the long gun registry in the remainder of the country.
