The Harper Government has announced a family tax cut plan as well as a child care benefit boost.
Kenora MP Greg Rickford calls it a very reasonable program.
The tax cut comes in the form of a non-refundable federal tax credit and is capped at $2,000.
The plan also includes increases to monthly child care benefit cheques and to the amount taxpayers can deduct from child care expenses.
Rickford says they are also boosting the universal child care benefit to $160 per child up to the age of 6.
The government has also introduced a credit of $60 per month for children aged 6 to 17-years.
