Kenora MP Reacts To Potential Funding Cuts

The federal government isn’t saying whether it will extend the Police Officer Recruitment Program next year.
The program is due to end next March and reports have indicated that it will not be renewed.
Kenora MP Greg Rickford says he understands that many police agencies across the region rely on the funding.
Dryden Police is supporting the program and Treaty Three Police say they will have to pull out of Whitedog First Nation, because it won’t have enough officers to police the community properly once the funding runs out.
