Kenora MP Greg Rickford is calling it a smart move.
His comment is in regards to Prime Minister Stephen Harper asking the Governor General to prorogue Parliament until October. Rickford says their priorities will continue to be on the economy and creating jobs, adding that every community in the Kenora riding has benefited from a strong presence in Ottawa. He feels confident that their best interests will be right there as the government transitions into a new parliamentary agenda. Rickford says once the new agenda is in place, he will continue to stress the importance of the forestry and mining sectors in Northwestern Ontario, and also points to the new water and waste water treatment plant that is being built in Dryden.
