Kenora Police to Review Bear Shooting

The Kenora Police Service will be conducting a review of a
bear shooting in a residential neighborhood over the Easter Long weekend.

Kenora Police Chief Dan Jorgenson says its standard procedure for them to look into any incident where an officer discharges a firearm.

N003 Q: …animals. (20 secs.)

Jorgenson says even though the incident made headlines around the world, their animal control officers rarely ever shoot bears.

He says the last incident was likely several years ago.
