The MPP for Kenora-Rainy River is concerned about conditions at Rainycrest Long Term Care Home in Fort Frances.
Sarah Campbell’s statement comes after the facility was ordered by the province to stop admitting any more residents.
She says this means there are even fewer long-term care beds for residents in her riding, and suggests Rainycrest residents have faced violence and dangerous living conditions as well as poor infection control,
The official reason given for Rainycrest’s closing admissions is not-complying with certain unspecified rules.
Campbell places some of the blame on the provincial Liberals, accusing them of neglecting to investigate and address issues in seniors’ homes.
